Porceline Doll

September 30, 2008 at 4:16 am (Poetry, life, love, lyrics)

v1

She sat there in the corner

watching them fight,

wanting everything to be alright.

She was always causing problems,

everything she did.

She was blamed by her mother

and said to be a bad kid.

v2

That girl then grew up

maybe too fast for her age.

Hid all her secrets,

invisible ink on every page.

She made a mask of lies,

the way she thought would please.

chorus

Now she looks at herself,

doesn’t know who she’s looking at.

All she sees is the doll that she has become.

And all her secrets are eating away of whats left of her soul.

She’s slowly breaking….

There’s a crack in this porceline doll.

v3.

When she tried to open up

she got shut down.

Ignored and forgotten

were her worries.

So she worries to herself,

because when she finally found love…

it’s not what she was told it would be like.

The stories lied, because she was denied.

chorus

Now she looks at herself,

doesn’t know who she’s looking at.

All she sees is the doll that she has become.

And all her secrets are eating away of whats left of her soul.

She’s slowly breaking….

There’s a crack in this porceline doll.

v4.

So the doll will go to sleep tonight.

Fix the crack in her face

and try to forget her haunting past.

She’ll hope that he loves her

That he’ll hold her again very soon,

and make her feel safe….

because

today she sat there in the corner.

watching them fight,

wanting everything to be alright…..
